And by neutering him, you erode his US support and make his insanity a national family intervention problem and not a neighborhood trouble.
In 2017-2021, the US Democrats tried to apply norms, the Senate GOP put faith in norms, and refused to take the short term pain (by impeaching him making him ineligible for elected office and facing MAGA hate), they passed like dutiful chickensh*ts, so now we've ended up here.
I am sorry that Europeans will suffer because of retaliatory tariffs, but he is counting on you being weak, afraid, and caving. That's exactly how he, historically, operates. And if you cave now, the pain will be 100x worse. Look at America. This is you, if you cave. Don't go into slaughter politely, like our politicians did. It's only going to get worse. Perhaps there are no world leaders up to the moment? #Canada and #Mexico have been put in a terrible position, but in a #tariffs2025 race to the bottom, you don't cling to hopes, you race to the bottom. Both countries should close their borders to the #US by the time markets open tomorrow. Hammer-on-hammer is the only way forward.
