In 2017-2021, the US Democrats tried to apply norms, the Senate GOP put faith in norms, and refused to take the short term pain (by impeaching him making him ineligible for elected office and facing MAGA hate), they passed like dutiful chickensh*ts, so now we've ended up here.

Perhaps there are no world leaders up to the moment? #Canada and #Mexico have been put in a terrible position, but in a #tariffs2025 race to the bottom, you don't cling to hopes, you race to the bottom. Both countries should close their borders to the #US by the time markets open tomorrow. Hammer-on-hammer is the only way forward.
