A Sweet Gentleman

Our place is facing the village bar and it's exactly as you would imagine a French bar in a small village: only the locals, mostly older men, coming there for their coffee, their glass of wine, discussing standing at the bar or at the terrace and smoking cigarettes after cigarettes.

I swear conversations stopped and everyone looked at me suspiciously when I first stepped in to ask if they were selling bus tickets.

If anyone from #france can help? Here in Brazil there's a popular children's song/play brought here my #french immigrants. Today it's called "Adoleta", the sources I managed to find say it was originally "Andouilette", but all I can find is about some sausage? Nowadays it has lost most of the French parts except a "le petit, petit" in the second verse.
I'm curious how it was originally.
