@htdrake I think the rise of solo gaming (or trying to make board games work at all player counts) explains number two.
Not all games work at all counts and publishers (it’s probably them doing it, maybe, I dunno) should publish games with the ideal player counts on the box. Probably sell less and that’s why they don’t.
