Discourse/discourse-activity-pub: Adds #ActivityPub support to Discourse https://github.com/discourse/discourse-activity-pub
@rmdes Woah. I was recently thinking that Discourse's biggest failing and issue is lack of federation. Making an account for each forum/community gets old and tiring super fast especially when you have tens at least. Great move.
@Nour @rmdes essentially, yes. Subreddits allowed for more niche communities, which eroded on forum and BBS territory, while the centralization of #Reddit allowed for a superior user experience (no separate logins, etc.) — a killer combo. Then it got enshittified.
Federation talks the talk, and I'm hoping it can walk the walk too.
@futureisfoss @tio it's still early stage but it could allow to subscribe/follow to forum categories from the fediverse. (not yet reply etc..)
