One of my pleasures at work today, Monday, after a long weekend, will be to wish my colleagues a happy weekend and watch their faces fall.
A one-day work week for me today, as I'm off to Würzburg tomorrow, despite the bus and tram strike.
TL;DR, Spontaneity of Memories induced temporary pleasures of yesteryear, aka I was bored and decided to straighten my curly curls again.
It's not chemical-permanent as before, but maybe kinda-yes might continue hot ironing for a bit.. to reconsider a long-term hypothesis hum hum.
Some years ago, at the start of The Pandemic, certain lifestyle changes were forced into existence, many quite dis-preferable. One of those was a cessation of quarterly visits to the salon for permanent thermal hair straightening and keratin infusions.
While costly and time consuming, I did so love the weightless swishing of longer locks as I walked with long-legs grace, a simpler care routine, and quite different aesthetics compared to the natural curls.
Pandemic tragedies indeed, I also used to love getting a mani/pedi evey other week, and probably that should be resumed as well!
A small stick, my pocket knife, a little string, a little paint and a final lick of varnish to create a tiny representation of Gungnir. Quite the spontaneous weekend project. Now added to my sacred space alongside the Allfather.

I created another Hacker News #bot that generates a summary of a #news article's content in the style of n-gate.com. Follow @ngate
Thanks to @egoldblatt for the idea.

I'm not sure how it got to be the last week of February. For a change, I've spent the entire day at home today – weekends have been wildly busy lately, so I welcomed the quiet.
Got to spend an hour in the garden yesterday evening and it was divine... more of this in my future, I hope, as the weather gets cooler.
Today involved an early morning and lots of kitchen time. Kid2 is experimenting a bit with baking and we had a pack of filo pastry in the freezer that wasn't doing anything, so she made some pastries and a quiche. The apple pastry was a perfect accompaniment to a dandelion root 'coffee' while I wrote the meal plan and shopping list for the next two weeks. Kid2 and Kid3 suggested some different things they would like to eat and we're trying a couple of new noodle recipes. About an hour after I finished the lists, I discovered I'll be going out to dinner twice this week, but I can work on doing the simple meals on those nights and Kid1 and Kid2 can take care of them.
Cleaned up the study this arvo and chatted to a friend on the phone. This evening has involved a patchwork of different use-it-up foods including frying some leftover homemade chips which turned out better than I expected. Now I'm waiting for the kettle to boil and looking forward to ice cream. Work tomorrow. That's OK. Good food and good friends await in between the work hours.
Bom dia, desejo um bom domingo a todos, por aqui hoje o tempo está bom, o frio desapareceu. Aproveitem!
Good morning, I wish you all a good Sunday, here today the weather is good, the cold has disappeared. Enjoy!
We've had a lot of snow and cold in Montana & Wyoming this month... Darrin & Kim Miller made a happy flowerpot snowman! A warming wind is making it tough for the snowman to stay happy!
Temperatures are about to drop hard tonight to -15 °C (5 °F)
Carmel Beach View
Soothing waves in blue and turquoise, a little escapism. My painting is inspired by a spring visit to Carmel.
