It's interesting (as a person with a large bowl of popcorn) how Rust is making people in both Linux and BSD thinking about long held conventions and positions that might need updating.
It's too bad these things often get turned into religious wars by people that may or may not even have any real knowledge of the issues and the impacts of change.
I'm #annoyed . Walked dog this morning. What do I see on our local rail trail? Some considerate soul decided to leave their baggie full of dog turds in the middle of the pavement. Do they think someone will pick it up for them? Are they coming back for it? Like, WHY? Now walkers, joggers and cyclists have to avoid it. I guess it's better than throwing it off trail so it can hang in a tree forever. Or worse, leaving turds for others to step in. But still.. #PeopleSuck #OldManRant #Stupidity

@viridian My neighbor has decided to use the railing on the landing as an ashtray. He stubs his butts out and leaves them there. At some point either he or one of his guests swept the six or eight butts down onto the walkway leading to the two downstairs apartments. Several hours later they were gone. Somehow I don't think he picked them up.
I don't know what his problem is but it's annoying. Not as annoying as noise but still.

a few weeks ago, Kim rescued a kitten that had been hit by a truck and took it to the vet. today, we found out the kitten passed away.
while Lacey never made it to our home, she did make it into our hearts, which are now broken. she never had the chance at life because of someone's carelessness. #peoplesuck

My handyman was going to move my furniture to the garage tonight since I am getting new furniture tomorrow. He texted to say he won't make it at 730 pm. I had to struggle to move them myself.

Yesterday #PortlandOR #Oregon had one of the coldest days in over 30 years. The temperature never rose above 20°. At least 3 & probably more, perished in this unusually cold, windy weather.
After helping clear snow/sleet around my neighborhood earlier today, I heard a neighbor express concern about their flight being canceled for Palm Springs.

I agreed to stay on late tonight to help someone that was having IT issues and they only work nights. Said he would call at 4, my off time. Never called.
File under #peoplesuck . Last night on the way home from across town my wife saw a car stopped along the dark rural road around the corner from us.
It was a woman who had stopped because she had seen #puppies wandering at the edge of the woods.
Coincidentally our neighbors also happened to be passing by and they stopped too.
We all got the pups easily in the cars (they’re big but very friendly!) 1/
