If your app supports multiple languages you can test it on device in another language without changing your entire device's language with a per app setting.
It even works with widgets!
This is not the case with some per-app accessibility settings, which I did open feedback about.
This headline though ... #AltText is not only NOT an #SEO feature of the web, it should only ever be used to describe the purpose of the image for people who can't see it.
Any SEO benefits come way down the list of priorities. Never, ever stuff alt attributes with keywords.
It will be profoundly counterproductive in the long run.

.textContentType(.birthdate) .birthdateDay .birthdateMonth .birthdateYear not working to enable Autofill
Disabilities don’t take a break just because there’s a special occasion or something on the calendar. They’re always there, regardless of the day.
Don’t Wrap Figure in a Link: "If you do it anyway, don’t make it worse by adding a title (or other accessible name technique) to that link." #a11y https://adrianroselli.com/2025/01/dont-wrap-figure-in-a-link.html
Skoro 3.10 is now on the App Store!
https://apps.apple.com/app/id1608311042
I thought a big fixed-size text for scores and player names would be enough - until a teacher using Skoro in his class asked for bigger fonts!
With version 3.10, Dynamic Type support is much improved.
Wrote my feedback to accessibility@bookshop.org regarding their app. It sure would be great, though, if you all chipped in! My initial app review is at https://www.applevis.com/apps/ios/books/bookshoporg-ebooks #Blind #Accessibility #A11y @mastoblind

Jusqu'où va se nicher la masculinité fragile des néo-nazis américains désormais au pouvoir :
jusqu'au design system des sites web : faire des pages web "inclusive" c'est pour les mauviettes désormais.

the US Web Design System having to delete their page on inclusive design is wild
Saying something is fully accessible as a misnomer! Accessibility isn’t a checkbox, a finish line, or a guarantee. Yet we often see products, websites, and service is labeled as “fully accessible“- why is this a misconception and what can we do to course correct without losing confidence?

The Nintendo Switch does NOT have a screen reader. This makes it very frustrating to navigate when you're blind/visually impaired... Sign the petition to encourage Nintendo to consider accessibility on the new switch!

I need to get out on a quadricycle ride, but first:
Accessibility isn't about "compliance". ADA is the floor, not the ceiling (and is US-only)
We have to be about anti-ableist culture.
We have to have a culture where we don't need a law to compel compliance because we actually give a shit about ourselves and other people.
Whatever decisions you're making, make them accessible ones. If you don't know how, the net has a lot of writings by disabled ppl. #a11y #Accessibility @disability
Well, my third attempt to join the #Blind Institute of Technology’s Digital #Accessibility Analyst Program was unsuccessful. the people who are accepted are probably so amazing they don't actually need the course! LOL Oh well. I'm going to try one more time, and hopefully they will have hired another instructor by then so they can accommodate more students.

I finally got my company to move towards getting our app AA certified for #a11y. It's going to be a long process tbh.
Anyone have a consultant that can perform an audit?
