The Power of Metadata – HMC at Girls Day 2025

Our #HMC colleagues from Hub Matter at @hzbde hosted their first metadata-themed workshop for Girls Day at #HZB!

They introduced Data & Information Science to 11 curious girls from Berlin and played a fun, newly developed metadata game.

Big thanks to our brave participants for exploring this exciting field with us – we had a blast!

Heute durften wir im Rahmen des Girls‘ Day Mädchen am CEN und Institut für Meereskunde willkommen heißen. Mit Experimenten und Messungen am Eis-Tank konnten sie hautnah erfahren, was den Beruf einer Klimaforscherin ausmacht.

Wir durften heute im Rahmen des Girls' Day sechs Nachwuchs-Hackerinnen einen ersten Einblick in Python und die Arbeit als Software-Entwickler:in geben. Danke für den großartigen Tag mit euch!
