Nourishing ourselves of the land,
Of each other

Reaching out to touch a critical burnout phase

Finding balance with spiritual and physical labors and little rest

Deeply aware of and in tune with sacred responsibilities, temporal relationships, and the holding of space for death
And life

This evening I am allowing for external perception, and plan on filming my Solstice rites for the first time, with the express intention of releasing fear of not becoming the person I want to be and accepting my Path and the being that I am.

I am releasing the desire for external validation, so that I may be more attuned and aware for those who step into ritual with me.

I am releasing the fear of losing material stability and allowing my Path to bring me the people who need my services. I am relinquishing, surrendering, and avoiding attempts at forcing specific financial outcomes. I accept the work required, and accept that I must remain authentic and whole in order to engage with it dutifully.

I am stepping into the return of the Sun with purpose, allowance, space, and reclamation.

Happy Solstice to all who observe. May inwardness in this moment serve you well towards purpose & love.

Yearly obligatory post regarding material contributions, should you be in the giving mood & wish to support our endeavors here at Rancho de la Libertad.

I've updated my ko-fi to be more strictly one-of-a-kind sacred items, talismans/wards & I have many sage bundles left from last year's harvest. If you'd like to support my ability to provide sliding scale access to healing tattooing or our regenerative project more broadly, please consider a donation or purchasing something sacred from us this giving season ✨🖤

And always booking a tattoo here at the ranch is a deeply meaningful way to support our endeavors & the people we house, and a truly transformational experience for you, unlike what is offered elsewhere.

Sending you all love, rest, & abundance this Solstice season. May the wheel turn slowly into the season of motion and growth, allowing us inwardness and wholeness all the while.

The days grow shorter and shorter,
And we more tired. Time to go inwards, dormant for the season. If we haven't already, we're thinking of ancestors: this is a season for honoring the past.

And yet so crucial is preparation for the future. Are you taking time to visualize, to focus on your path? Preparation may simply look like finding stillness or space enough to be one with yourself, and truly honor your inner needs.

Spent a wonderful afternoon yesterday engaged in some self love & working on this scar cover tattoo on myself.

I'm getting extraordinarily excited, actually, about revamping the studio (starting this week!!) and offering ritual to more people. Despite years of reservations (and some, still), I've been having many conversations with people that remind me that this work is so needed, and I feel honored to be able to hold space for those who resonate with my work.

*Some fresh, some healed, & I may sit with this one more time because it still feels a little unfinished to me.

If you'd like to get tattooed by me but can't travel to Joshua Tree, where are you located & how far could you travel?

Building relationships with other artists & shop owners and would love to get a feel for which locations should be added to a travel itinerary for some trips I'd like to plan in the next year 🤫

Feel free to DM or email the response for privacy, most definitely don't want to encourage anyone to share private info publicly unless that feels safe.

Figuring January books and I have only ONE slot left available! I'll be putting booking on hold for February pending getting some things in motion, so this is the last slot until at least March, and this is arguably one of the nicest times of year to come visit us.
Message me or email to claim!

It feels like time to reintroduce myself and my practice, since things are always evolving (as they should).

If you're new here: hello, my name is Siin. I am a ritual tattooist operating in the Mojave desert in California, near Joshua Tree. I am also co-owner of Rancho de la Libertad (@rancholibertad) a pioneering sanctuary and regenerative space.

Ritual tattooing has become popular in recent years, with many practitioners attempting to emulate closed practices while simultaneously feigning respect for the lines they're walking on. I am searching for language that helps me distance myself from these practitioners, but have yet to find any that works while encompassing what I do. While I can't summarize this succinctly yet, I can say that while what I offer is also ritual tattooing, I perform rituals in a way that is place-based and draws on my ancestral ties to Sicilian folk magick and witchcraft. I am working into my practice plant medicine and herbal magick sourced and crafted here in the Mojave and utilizing other foraged organic materials such as bones, feathers, and handmade local beeswax candles. We time ritual with moon cycles and seasonal events specific to this landbase.

I also offer less participatory tattoo rites that look a lot more like a typical tattoo experience with intention behind it, for those who are not yet ready for significant rites. We decide what your experience should look like when we choose to work together, as there are many shades.

I am also a performance & multidisciplinary artist - I paint, illustrate, write, sculpt, and engage with creation how and when I am called to. I believe art should fundamentally challenge us and create an experience of insight, awareness, and inspiration.

In my personal life (as though that's a distinct thing) I raise three tiny humans, work with the land, read a lot of books, contemplate things, and build community. I am both apolitical and radically activist, depending on how you define those things. I am interested in changemaking in all its forms, and healing ourselves, the land, and others.

Thank you for reading. I look forward to meeting you in this virtual space, and am always open to DMs and discussions.

On the Other App, I'm offering a ritual tattoo giveaway to celebrate opening my private studio to the public for the first time ever this upcoming January. But it only seems fair to also provide an offering for you all, as this community feels much more like, well, a community.

And this isn't the place for "like, share, and comment" nonsense, so instead I want to just leave space for a discussion, and if you reply here I'll enter you in a random drawing on 12/12. The winner will receive a free four hour sanctified tattoo after engaging in shared channeling work to find a sacred image that needs to be embodied in your skin. This prior ritual work can be done virtually or in-person depending on your travel constraints, and will be tailored to your intention & needs.

If you need to travel, and can get here, we can offer one night of lodging and a day of meals at the ranch.

You can also pass this on, if you win, to someone else who you think could utilize this kind of ritual magick in a healing space.

I also want to extend a temporary offer to all of my mutuals as well: if you refer a client to me who books & receives a tattoo, you will receive in return a free sigil tattoo up to 3 inches square, or a print of your choice from my "Visions" book (some of which is previewed below, and which I will have on my website soon). I'll extend this offer through March of 2025.

Tattooing is becoming a central part of how we're going to continue to keep Rancho de la Libertad alive and running, and is an integral part of our communal experience here. Booking a tattoo gets you invited to an incredibly sacred, restorative space and also enables us to maintain that space for others.

So let's get started. If you were to engage in a ritual tattoo, what would you hope to achieve? This could be anything: a state of consciousness, a spell you'd like to cast through the tattoo, a commemoration of a rite of passage, and so on.

(Feel free to DM your answer if it feels too personal, and feel free to boost this if that feels meaningful to you).

Divine androgyne • Last ceremonial tattoo until after solstice shifts, joined by land spirits: father raven & mother hen, home grown sage & mesquite blessings, stoic mountains and wind whispers.

Grateful for trust and growth, excited to do more like this. Still have a couple spots open for January ~

Finally finished up this sheet after it taking ages when it really shouldn't have. I've recently claimed set working times during the week, and am claiming Saturday mornings as well for catching up to messages and doing extra work as I can.

This tattooing journey is 15 years in the making. I don't regret not working towards it all this time, I think I was meant to try other things to gain skills that ultimately make me more patient, more understanding, and having a more connected spiritual foundation upon which to provide these offerings. But with that being said, it's been 15 years I've been dreaming of making tattooing my life & livelihood, of providing this service to others. And it's going to take some time, but the day has come where I feel I'm truly beginning to touch that dream in reality. 🜏

*I actually hit publish without an image. Oops

I don't tattoo flash, but I love providing inspiration while honing my skills. What images on this sheet resonate with you? How do they make you feel?

My studio, Thee Otherworld, will be up and running by January & I'm going to re-open bookings on a limited basis for tattoo ritual. I do not charge for ritual tattoos but do expect a degree of preparation not typical, even to other "ritual" artists. I also only accept referrals OR people I've communicated with directly, which is why this offer is open to some of you.

I'm also playing with the idea of offering a very few slots for intention based but not ritually performed tattoos, as I find I'm turning away a lot of requests for ritual, and this may be a good way to begin a spiritual or healing journey in skin and develop a relationship before diving into deeper sacred work that demands more participation. These slots would require monetary compensation or a trade, but would require less preparation overall and may be more accessible for some.

Feel free to send me a message if you'd like to inquire about my services, or leave any clarifying questions on this thread 🖤

Thee eye which sees that which cannot be seen.

Freehand eye spell, drawn down through meditation & adapted to space.

A reminder that there is transformative power even in small acts of embodiment and engagement with self. It takes humility not to pander to ego which declares we must go big or quit. If we are to truly reach out and connect with the All, we find we must reach within -- we find that these actions are one in the same. As an aspect of the All, our movements and actions are mirrored in all directions.

Loving single needle work and would love to do more like this!

Visionary tattoo, completely freehanded. This was an incredible piece to do. It was so freeing. The line quality is fascinating (the result of using a different handwork technique than usual) and going to evolve well as the tattoo heals and ages, and works to serve the delicate skin in this space long term.

Organic, somatic. Looking very forward to opportunities to do more like this in the future.

Tattoo push through July, with some self work and the first sessions booked for an enormous client piece we've been channeling for some time now and finally get to begin work on.

I'll be ceasing work on tattoos in mid August for the following few months, as we prepare for the upcoming birth of our next child. In the meantime, there are some exciting conversations happening around the future of my practice and I'm hoping to have some details to share early next year, dependent on how the winter goes.

Quick sketch from recent vision work to be refined and tattooed, when time permits, on someone very dear to me.

I feel comfortable sharing because the end result will be personalized and shifted and refined significantly in general, but I was very excited about this concept and the symbolic depth that exists within it. As far as most of my vision work goes, this is one of the most cohesive and universal sets of symbols that has ever come to me, which is really exciting.
