H5N1, it seems we're balancing on a thread. This video was excellent at explaining the exact binding behavior difference between the avian H5N1 and the cow/human variant.

The case of the teenager in Canada becomes very interesting with this understanding bc the recently released genetics suggest they could be patient zero for enhanced human infection. The virus may have mutated in that person, away from avians towards targeting humans.
