Kate, a 29-year-old Scot, has made the brave decision to leave the United Kingdom behind and start a new chapter in her life by teaching English in Hong Kong. In this candid video, Kate talks about her reasons for traveling, the difficulties she encountered back home, and why she feels happier and more fulfilled abroad. She also shares an inspiring message for other young people in the UK: "Don't be afraid to explore life beyond the usual boundaries."

High taxes, stagnant wages, and unattainable living costs have made even small pleasures, like dining out, an unreachable luxury. An increasing sense of dissatisfaction and limited opportunities made her feel trapped. Kate reflects on the cultural guilt associated with questioning the UK’s status as "one of the best places to live." The influence of social media, weakening social relationships, and growing societal distrust created an image of life she no longer wanted to reconcile with.

The little bird 'pipser' in the first picture was found sitting in the middle of the busy mountain street. Had it fallen out of the nest? What kind of bird is it—a cuckoo? Did the parents recognize that it is a cuckoo and throw it out of the nest? What will happen to it? We had lots of questions while staring at this cute little featherball. Every time it made a 'peep,' it looked a bit grumpy. 🙃
Finally, we discovered its sibling on the other side of the street and brought our rescued 'pipser' there. Both jumped into the scrub. We hope the parents found them before a predator, and that they are now happily flying around. 😇

Later we found out they were thrushs (Drossel)

That same day, we witnessed a crazy and brutal event. Never before have we seen something like this. A wasp caught a butterfly in mid-air, pushed it down to the ground in a rapid dive, and immediately began to cut (bite) off the head and all the wings. Within a few short minutes, the wasp had destroyed the whole butterfly, grabbed the severed body, flew away, and left us speechless. (last picture)
-> marc's mum told us, the 'wasp' was an
invasive asian hornet 😱

The other day, we sat in a little picnic shelter when a tit 🐦 crashed into the window next to us. Marc, the bird whisperer, talked to it until it was recovered enough to fly away.

Last but not least, the next day, a large and intensely colorful moth drew our attention 🦋

Beautiful nature! We are very happy to be out in nature, to travel slowly, and to have time for animals and such amazing experiences. 🥰
