So what are we doing after Castlevania Nocturne?
...
We are going back to fill in that time gap...right?

On this day 34 years ago (July 12, 1991), Castlevania II: Belmont’s Revenge was released for the Game Boy!
Play as Christopher Belmont on a quest to save his son Soleiyu from Dracula’s grip.
Features:
– Mega Man-style stage select

One of the best Castlevania titles on handheld.
Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow - Julius Mode spoilers
I wish there were a non-lrg physical or #pc option for #castlevania requiem. I'm stuck with the digital copy on #ps4 and it feels so ephemeral.
I'm on the fence about picking up #gundam extreme vs on the ps4 for the same reason.
at least we have some preservation of older digital only console titles but it's so much easier on the PC to retain those things.
speaking of retention, I need to back up my #checkpoint save states!
Ahahaha, I found on Reddit some very angry Castlevania fans screaming "not canon!!" at the suggestion in the animated series that Alucard is at the very least bisexual.

I just boosted this a few minutes ago, but if you haven't read this trans SotN fanfic you owe it to yourself to do so:
https://medium.com/mammon-machine-zeal/your-asshole-dads-castle-is-back-again-2623a02f0cb0
It's an 8th episode with 8 legs & 1 man
If anyone is curious this is how it works.
Just a bunch of path nodes, it is really that simple.
Doors just forces the next path too.
Alright, camera system is going fine, might have to make it so you can't go back after reaching the end or maybe have a delay before it can get triggered again.
In here you can see how there's paths connected by a door or by a combination of paths.
Alright! Stairs, including being able to attack on them are fully done! I will rework on the logic once the entire prototype template is complete.
Also made it so you go faster while going down (feedback by

)
Added Whippables (Candles + Blocks)
Added Consumables (Hearts, Big Hearts & Subweapons)
Now entities respawn like the good ol' days
This project template is shaping up to be awesome
(ignore the sound bug at the end)
I played some more #Castlevania Symphony of the Night.
I totally forgot about Olrox!!! I did some Wiki diving, but apparently he's not much of a character in SotN. They did some real work with him in the TV show. Probably my favorite character.
I've uncovered most of the (first) castle and I'm doing a large cleanup round now that I have all the movement abilities.
I think the inverted castle flies by much quicker because you're mainly just ticking off all the boxes and there aren't any blockers in your path... but I might misremember.
This game holds up really well. It's still great fun to unlock bits and pieces of the castle one by one.
#WritersCoffeeClub 2 July: Where did your last idea come from?
My last idea? Well... Geeze, what was my last idea... Well, the last story idea that I acted on would have to be Shadowed Reality, the short story I wrote which is featured in the horror collection Bad Spirits by Clay Vermulm. That idea was spawned from every story where a writer must face the things they write about, and also the wish that I made enough with my writing so that I could annually take a nice vacation with my wife to some nice place where we could enjoy nature (in the story's case, a cabin in the woods). My actual last idea, that I haven't really acted on, is to create a Symphony of The Night type game, with 3D models and whatnot like Metroid Dread or Bloodstained. The idea came from playing some SOTN and being aggravated with the pixel look, wishing they would remake the game.

I regret having not played the Castlevania games in the past.
I just recently began Dawn of Sorrow, and it's pretty obvious to me that I just really enjoy this format of game, earlier Castlevania and more Castletroid games have shown me that.
Speaking of, I missed out on the Metroid series way back then too. It's actually shocking how many classics I have missed out on. Never played the Donkey Kong Platformers either.
It's why I'm fully in support of bringing older games back so that people who missed them, or perhaps even younger players who were not even born back then get to play them in the modern day.
I just ask that they keep the prices for these games at sane levels.
