All credit to #OctopusEnergy for offering Power Ups to those meeting certain criteria (mostly, living in eastern England or south, smart meters) to hoover up the surplus power off-peak instead of putting the brakes on the wind farms.
We're just about to have our fifth free 2-hour slot in nine days and I'm trying to find EV-owning neighbours to give them my surplus kilowatts.
