Kind of pissed at the Sainsbury's news. Including the cafe closures.
I regularly used the cafe at the local one.
I suppose it'll end up being sublet to some much worse coffee chain, offering just utter junk to eat and drink. No jacket potatoes or fish and chips.
It is getting harder and harder to find somewhere to eat out in Cornwall that is not some kind of gentrification project or Wetherspoons.
I didn't see the news. Is it a national thing?
Our own Sainsbury's stopped the cafe about 3 years ago and it has lain empty since. Real shame as it was a cheap place to eat ok food. Fish, beans, peas, tomatoes, potatoes, etc .. it was at least real food.
The Tesco has a costa coffee which serves really expensive and really artificial food. Bleurgh.
You're right. It is hard to find cheap but real food that doesn't require a massive plan to get to.
@rzeta0 yeah, national news.
It's part of a series of cost cutting measures by Sainsbury's that is also seeing the jobs of friends and family on the line as well.
Something like 3000 jobs impacted and most weren't on huge wages anyway.
Sad news.
@emkingma Our local Sainsbury's closed theirs a few years ago. Tesco still has theirs despite having both Costa and Greggs concessions.
@SgtBenton I remember the first round of closures.
One local Sainsbury's has done nothing with the space since it happened and it's just a dumping ground for product cages and lost souls.
