Hiked around this beautiful lake this afternoon in SE Massachusetts. Until recently, it had been frozen completely across and with a layer of snow everywhere. What a difference a few weeks makes! Just a few scattered patches of ice on the trail and some ice at one end of the lake.

Yes, incredibly so, although I guess that the water temp was in the 30’s (F). The solid line of evergreen trees adds to the “warm” look.
