Mellow Candle was an Irish progressive folk rock band formed around three young female singers who met at a Dublin convent school. They had two singles and one album, Swaddling Songs. They broke up, in debt, in 1973.

Swaddling Songs later became a cult LP and Stephen Malkmus covered The Poet and The Witch, which is my favourite from the album.
