WOW just got back from the veterans' march, which overshot the event permit's estimated crowd size by 2 orders of magnitude.
With very good reason, the anger is extremely intense. Every time a speaker mentioned Republicans, there were many shouts of "COWARDS" and "TRAITORS" and "WHERE ARE THE REPUBLICANS??" among deafening boos.
There were also chants of "FUCK CHUCK SCHUMER," and this was a crowd with lots of federal workers in it.
All I can say is these mofos in the #GOP have no idea how much anger they will eventually face, no matter how much they want to run from it.
Of course, there were a lot of veterans present, but the rest of us were there too. Lots of military family members and also people generally protesting this administration's betrayal of the American people.
One of the speakers asked the veterans present to please look into joining local veterans' groups, "because our voices are heard better...
...when we speak together." That sounded like good advice, and the crowd agrees, so I thought I'd share it here.
The American people are REALLY ANGRY and this is just the orchestra warming up.
A number of Dem state legislators were present and addressed the crowd to thunderous cheering. One of them specifically said she would relay the crowd's messages to the Republicans, and that got an especially loud reaction.
On a personal note, I feel a lot better for screaming so much.
Find your local protests, y'all!
https://fiftyfifty.one and/or find your state's 50501 reddit forum. Larger blue cities have their own reddit protest forums too.
Nobody's rounding us up
Nobody's shooting us
Nobody's destroying property
MAGAs are starting to get angry at the same people, and they certainly aren't counter protesting
Screaming in public with thousands of other people is great for your mental health
Seriously, go to a protest, it's cheaper than therapy
Thank you. We needed to hear this.
@MaryAustinBooks Establishment Dems like Schumer don't realize that their party is evolving. The younger generation isn't going to put up with 'politics as usual'. They've seen how this sort of gameplay has hurt their parents and dimmed their own prospects for a happy, healthy and freedom-filled life.
Aristocrats are never prepared when revolution erupts. They go all the way to the guillotine wondering what the hell happened.
@resisting
Judging by the crowd I saw today, *no* generation is going to put up with any collaborating Dems!
@MaryAustinBooks That's heartening to hear!
@resisting
Seriously, the Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan vets were ALL on the same page about this! As were the rest of us.
@MaryAustinBooks And they have every right to be. The Trump administration has fired more veterans than any other administration in history.
thank you!!
I couldn't travel to DC today, but I tried to follow online, below.
(I think maybe it's recorded, so folks can hear the speakers here?)
@melipona
Great, thanks!
@MaryAustinBooks
I'm more confused about the treatment of veterans and soldiers currently training ukrainian solders.
Kelly's Interview is so normal. This is we would expect in any conversation.

The appalling treatment of veterans is one of a number of critical issues driving Trump voters to regret their choice. It's absolutely nuts, besides evil. Trump and the tech bro fascists obviously think they won't face competitive elections and they're above the law, that nothing can touch them.
This is why respected people are saying this regime will collapse amidst mass unrest sooner rather than later.
@MaryAustinBooks Why would the Elonistas wrecking the federal state risk angering veterans? That group includes people quite capable of going Luigi on the «CEO of five companies» guy.
@toriver
Right? Even Kim Jong Un has the sense to take care of his military. These people apparently think they're going to get the US military to follow wildly illegal orders to shoot protesters... for the guy who destroyed the VA. Not the brightest minds in the country, that's for damn sure.
@toriver
I might add that in France, for centuries the government set the price of bread so that it would not become unaffordable again; even today the price is still tightly controlled by consumer associations. They learned their lesson. Hell, even Putin keeps the price of vodka low so Russians don't rise up.
Trump is astronomically increasing the price of both food and alcohol. While creating mass unemployment and destroying what's left of access to healthcare.
I don't think I'd do that.
@MaryAustinBooks @toriver when the other shoe drops, as wages dwindle and prices skyrocket, it’s gonna be something
@libramoon @toriver
Solid organization. Always worth a boost!
@MaryAustinBooks I watched the video feed on State of Coup on youtube. Great people! Great speeches!
You have my support all the way from the russian border here!!
