I just went hiking to get my exercise in before going out to protest this afternoon.
Enough green shoots are poking up through the yellow-brown dead winter grass, it was producing that color called "spring green" in person. I sent a picture to my neighbor and wrote "Is that GREEN I see?"
He wrote back "I hope so" and i realized on the screen it still looked pretty brown. So I took another picture of the green shoots at my feet and said "It is."
Such an allegory for what's going on...
...with the US right now.
If you're at home doomscrolling or you're in another country, it looks dead and brown. But if you're out protesting multiple times a week and hunting down other people's stories of resistance to share them... it's a whole other picture!
Get out and protest, y'all! The situation is VERY different close up!
