Backed by figures including Sam Altman, whose company created ChatGPT, it reads: “Mitigating the risk of extinction from AI should be a global priority alongside other societal-scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war.”

I remember reading a very nice article about a professor, an expert in LLMs, and her frustration at them being called AI, and her fundamental judgment of them was that investors and tech bros were imagining a ghost in the machine.
