Vers la lumière

Toujours à Nice, ce jour de mai 2025 où j’ai testé mon Semflex fraîchement adopté.
J’ai déclenché sans réfléchir, attirée par l’arche, les reflets dans la vitrine, les silhouettes en mouvement.
Il y avait dans l’air une douceur de fin de journée, une lumière presque laiteuse que mon objectif Berthiot 75 mm f/3,5 a su capter avec pudeur.
J’aime cette impression d’attente tranquille, comme si la ville entière retenait son souffle juste avant que quelque chose arrive.

Je me suis arrêtée net devant cette sculpture de Laurent Bosio, place Marshall.
Ce genre de photo me rappelle pourquoi j’aime tant l’argentique : cette façon de graver la matière et les fantômes tout à la fois.

"The Dawn" ("De Dageraad") is a socialist housing complex from 1920, situated in the southern part of Amsterdam. The apartments were meant to house workers and their families, and are still inhabited today.

The architect, Michel de Klerk, stated that "Nothing is beautiful enough for the worker, who has had to live without beauty for so long."

I took this picture with my vintage Agfa Isola, on mid format. Def takes you back in time.

Terroritial waters of the homeland.

This is the only other succesful picture from my Lomo Fantôme roll (ISO 8).

This particular photo probably worked out because I took it in the brightest daylight conditions possible: above the clouds, right under the sun.

I like it though.

But next time, I'll go for a more conventional ISO range lol.

I haven't been out of it lately, I've just experienced a lot of failures.

From the 36 frames on a roll of Lomo Fantôme, only 3 images turned out somewhat decent — the rest was completely useless.

I don't know what I did wrong, but I suspect it was my lighting. Fantôme is a hard film to master with its mere 8 ISO.

Probably gonna stop experimenting for a while now by choosing easier options; I would be happy to get some decent pics in for a change 🤍

Hier ein weiteres analoges Foto, aufgenommen mit meiner #Bessa1 . Inzwischen besitze ich einen orig. Voigtländer Entfernungsmesser, der sehr hilfreich ist, denn diesmal waren tatsächlich alle Fotos scharf. Einen Belichtungsmesser habe ich mir ebenfalls gegönnt, konnte ihn aber noch nicht einsetzen, weil mir die richtige Knopfzelle für den Betrieb fehlt. Aber das wird noch.

Ich habe also klassisch nach der Sonne-16-Regel belichtet. Und das haut schon mal ganz gut hin.

Leider habe ich wohl im Kamera-Balgen ein Leck, das auf einigen Fotos für einen hellen Fleck sorgt. Mal sehen, ob ich das selbst fixen kann.

Ein „Manko“ der Bessa ist natürlich, dass der „Sucher“ der Kamera eher nur grobe Anhaltspunkte für den tatsächlichen Bildauschnitt liefert.

Insgesamt macht mir das deutlich entschleunigte Fotografieren aber richtig Spaß. Ich lerne.
Und ich lerne im Gegenzug auch alles neu zu schätzen, was die digitale Fotografie mir an technischem Gefummel so abnimmt.
Aber manchmal will ich eben genau das: Gefummel, Handwerk, Verständnis.
Ein Prozess.

The spousal unit came home today and said, "I got you a toy!" and I was like, oh no, what kind of junk is he bringing home from the thrift store today (the last one being a keychain with a miniature version of my favourite instant noodle, which is thoughtful of him but, do I really need it?).

To my surprise, it's not really as junky as expected. It's a Widelux F7 panoramic camera with carrying case and a set of filters. It takes 35mm film.

Apparently, according to eBay sold listings, some people would pay a couple of thousand dollars for one of these. Huh. (The spousal unit got it for a steal, and yes, it works.)

Anyway, I've been a camera collector for years and I have hundreds of film cameras in my collection. This one is definitely one of the nicer (and very few) additions to the collection in recent years.
