She’s been recovering at the Hospital for Large #Animals at Tufts, where she’s been wearing pants to cover the sores. She’s also being treated for pneumonia and parasites. Astrid’s been weak and needed help getting up from her rests, but we’re hopeful we can move her to Nevins Farm in #Methuen this week 2/

NEW: We’re holding a one-day fee-waived adoptathon for #farm animals at Nevins this weekend! On Saturday, Jan. 11, fees will be waived for dozens of #ducks, #chickens, #goats, #sheep, and #pigs as we look to free up much-needed space to help animals we expect to take in during the cold winter months. 1/
January is #AdoptARescuedBirdMonth, and we have plenty of #birds in our care in need of new homes, including Opal and Garnet at Nevins Farm. They’re both #Budgerigars–a kind of parakeet–and are docile, gentle, and can even talk! Opal is a baby, so she needs to go to a home with a #parakeet or existing flock. Visit during open hours (12-4:30p, Tue-Sun) to adopt!

As some of you may remember, Moodini had quite the adventure last summer! He escaped from his home and was on the loose for two months before we were able to work with #Boston Animal Control to capture him and bring him to Nevins #Farm in #Methuen, where he's been living while adjusting to life with humans again.
