Christmas Eve Revisited

Every year since I started dating my wife I have been a part of her family’s christmas eve party. They were originally at her mother’s house, then they were at our house, now they are at her mother’s house again. This year, in order to get both of the kids there at the same time, we had to push it from the 24th to the 29th. Today. That means today is technically our christmas eve.

Just when you thought the holiday was over, we pull you back in!

It’s a chill #XmasEve at ShEvo Studios. For me, at least. The daughter-in-love and Dr. Wife are busy in the kitchen, and I’m sat on the couch with an #NA beer, as the gods intended.

And by that I mean I’m happy to stay out of my kitchen for a change. I’m the cook in the house, so it’s a nice break!

Xmas Eve

Are we all ready? Tomorrow is xmas. It is xmas eve. It’s time to get the last minute details wrapped up. Dot those holiday i’s and cross those holiday t’s.

I need to hit a couple of stores. One being a gas station and another being a grocery store. Good times. I don’t expect humongous, insane crowds or anything*.

My step son has been here for days. My step daughter will be here tonight, but not until super late. Maybe even after midnight. She has a gig in Vermont and can’t come home until after. Both kids will be here for xmas morning though and that’s what counts.

Now that the holiday is actually here, can I start feeling a little xmas spirit? I mean before it’s too late? I don’t know… tomorrow will suffice if that’s all I get. HoHoHo and shit.

*Yeah, that’s sarcasm. You could tell that by the context, right?

The big man is coming tonight so remember to leave out the carrots, milk and a mince pie to keep him going.
