Fünfte und finale Staffel von #StarTrekDisco ist m.E. eher wieder etwas schwächer, aber das ist diese Star-Trek-Iteration ja als Ganzes für viele.
Trotz der komplett verstrahlten Klingonen zu Beginn, hat sich die Serie für mich ganz gut gemausert. Große Vielfalt, viel Herz und einige dolle Figuren. Tig Nataros Jett Reno zum Beispiel möcht ich nicht missen im Kanon.

Rereading a thread that I made about #StarTrekDisco , I think I realized something: Now that non-binary people actually exist, Star Trek is afraid to use them as a metaphor.

Star Trek has twice done something with aliens society have all or some of them fall outside of the binary gender, one with the alien species that had evolved past gender or something on Next Gen, and the other with the third sex on Enterprise.

Both those characters, at least the important ones, were played by women, not non-binary people, which would have not really been possible at the time. And they weren't actually metaphors for non-binary people, they were metaphors for homosexuality... mostly.

Although that metaphor was seriously undercut by having two women play them and having two men attracted to them, which Jonathan Frakes, one of the men in question, literally called out about his episode, pointing out that the 'non-gendered' person he was attracted to should have been played by a man to actually make an impact.
