My name is Daniel and I have been using #QGIS for several years, and today I finally looked up how to delete a layer from a geopackage.

Yes, I have put up with the difficulty of finding my final data amidst the clutter of temporary layers with names like "Working," and "FinalMaybe" for too long.

Oregon State University | Open Source Lab ( #OSUOSL) is in jeopardy of shutting down this year because of budget cuts. OSUOSL has been vital to the functioning of OSGeo (Open Source Geospatial Foundation) lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/sac/ Projects under #OSGeo are #PostGIS, pgRouting, #QGIS GeoServer, GDAL, GEOS and others which are foundational software for the GIS community both in Open Source arena and others. If you know any corporations willing to support OSUOSL, please pass the message along.

🚀 This week a new version of QDT has been released, bringing a new job to automatically set the default QGIS profile: qgis-deployment.github.io/qgis

👐 Beyond features and bug fixes, we're also delighted to welcome a new contributor from outside Oslandia: Nicolas Godet. This is an excellent sign for the open source community aspect of the project. Welcome!

A good moment to give it a try: github.com/qgis-deployment/qgi

figured out a few upgrades to my walks map: Changing colour on hover is an obvious one as I keep doing walks that overlap and are the same length, so there's no colour difference.

I also added an image field to the Named Stones layer, so now I can just correctly name a picture of the stone and drop it into the folder and it will pop up on the layer. Points without images show a broken icon though. I should probably set the image popup size too..

New #introduction after migrating to Hachyderm.io - I work in data/research for a dog welfare and rehoming charity, mostly using #RStats, #Python and #SQL with occasional #QGIS.

I’m also interested in the environment, climate and wildlife. I don’t have loads of free time these days but I also enjoy music (see Bandcamp link!), books when I get round to reading them (see Bookwyrm link!), films (anything from highbrow to Highlander), cycling, yoga and #TaiChi (initially as ways to help manage #arthritis, before I began to appreciate both in their own rights).

#Perseverance appears to be very interested in this area east of its current location. We've seen the rover go back and forth quite a lot around here, so maybe that flat rock is its next target?

The map shows the approximate traces of the SUPERCAM images on the ground.

Two new releases for Total Open Station

A few weeks ago the Total Open Station repository saw a burst of activity, when one blocking issue was finally solved, and that allowed me and the other contributors to release in a short cycle the long awaited 0.6 version, followed by the 0.7 version. Version 0.6 is almost entirely the work of psolyca, who added full support for LandXML as both input and output format. The subset of LandXML that is supported is specifically targeted to survey data and we are looking forward to seeing […]
