I like the song, but I was prompted to post this stage by MiU's (she's the opening singer) midriff adornment.

I know the usual names for such body jewelry in English are "belly chain" or "waist chain", but I dislike those terms as they remind me of "lavatory/toilet chain".

I wish instead we would start using the Hindustani "kamarband", which to my ear sounds prettier, is neatly cognate with "cummerbund", and also calls attention to the south Asian ancestry of this charming accessory.

Of course I know that similar stories emerge from the entertainment industry all over the world, but because I follow kpop I found this report especially saddening.

Although the structural interlocking of sexism and minimal worker protection facilitated this assault, the individual was not merely a transmission belt for social forces. As a morally responsible agent, he deserves all the disgust and condemnation he is getting online. I hope that the Korean legal system can offer his victim redress.

How awful too for the other members of MADEIN! I feel sorry for Mashiro and Yeseo being dropped into such a dangerous workplace.

I know I posted this a few days ago, but I do so again for a couple of reasons.

In the first place, this is one of those B sides that I would have chosen as a title track.* I only wish it had been longer.

Secondly, I love the choreography. The power and elegance of those sweeping arm movements combined with little touches like the spinning hand to accompany the siren sound
have made this such a joy to watch.

It's also been a pleasure seeing and hearing Mashiro and Yeseo, even though I don't care for the styling; Mashiro's outfit incorporates three of my kpop outfit pet hates: the cap, the high cut onepiece/leotard/ swimsuit worn under pants, and those pants being the dreaded three quarter length cargo pants.

Never mind though, because Mashiro's singing and dancing here make up for everything.

*B sides that should have been A sides - a possible theme for #KpopMonday @Erzbet ? Or has it already been done?
