Had a spike in CPU usage in my git server today. Thought the LLM bot were back.
Turned out it was a Edge user with multiple versions?
Very curios, unfortunately it's not easy to get the matching IP in my current setup.

But at least my #LibreNMS setup is already showing some usefulness :)

#LibreNMS monitoring, all hosts and services are green

This is the FediMeteo VPS's LibreNMS CPU graph.

A significant spike occurs in the early afternoon, where the activity level reaches nearly 100, marking a sharp increase in activity. This spike coincides with the announcement by @FediFollows of new cities. Throughout most of the day, activity levels fluctuate between 10 and 40, with some peaks reaching up to 50 at different times. Notably, some of these levels coincide with backup operations. Early morning and late evening hours show lower activity levels, generally ranging between 10 and 20. The graph clearly highlights the midday burst of activity, followed by a return to more moderate levels throughout the rest of the day.

So I am looking for a monitoring system with lowest hardware requirements to run on RPi B+ (single armv6hf core and 512Mb RAM) and monitor home network.
Things tried so far:
1. #Zabbix -- great tool but the server is almost unusable on devices this weak
2. #LibreNMS looks promissing but still somewhat slow on RPi since it is #PHP+#MySQL app. Can work as a syslog server too.

Things to try:
1. #munin -- probably the lowest hw requirements

Running "modern" stuff like Prometheus+Grafana is out of the scope of course.

UPD: replaced "monit" with "munin" because it is what I originally meant. Thanks @blotza for the suggestion!

Had fun rewriting #LibreNMS [installation instruction](https://docs.librenms.org/Installation/Install-LibreNMS/) as an #Ansible playbook to install on my old RPi.

Remember to set your ANSIBLE_COW_SELECTION=random for the giggles while watching slow playbooks execute.

This is what the CPU usage looks like when you rebuild monogodb, then rebuild it again because you didn't specify the right tree.

What is everybody using to monitor their switches and routers via snmp? I have done telegraf+influxdb+grafana. This worked fine but I found building the dashboards in #Grafana was a very manual process.

Is #Librenms good? Any other options?

This would be for ~dozen switches and a few pairs of routers.

Just experimenting with #ansible and API calls to #librenms.
An Ansible playbook does Updates for Windows and Debian Linux and sets in LibreNMS the systems into a five minute maintenance window.

Finally, I have the #SolarPV set up I wanted

The #Cotek Automatic Transfer Switch/Inverter (https://www.cotek.com.tw/sr1000t-1000w) now has a #Victron "Smart BatteryProtect" (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Victron-Energy-Smart-Battery-Protect/dp/B07MXHX37C) connected to it.

I have set the disconnect at 50V and the connect at 53.7V, so the battery doesn't get stressed too much and there is still power for other devices and for emergencies.

This means I can leave it and no longer have to manually turn on the Cotek when the sun is out, and off again at night

Although the Cotek has a low voltage disconnect built in, the highest I can set it to is 48V, which is too low and risks shutting the battery off overnight.

I then use @ntfy via #LibreNMS to tell me when it switches over.
