Have a couple of questions regarding a software project and how to better publish and distribute it.

Wrote a lot of code in #RustLang, which is released for some time now. (gitlab.freedesktop.org/AdeptVe) I can build the binary and run it.

But I don't know, how to handle the "large" program files. 20MiB is not much. But stored in a repository, it clogs up the pipelines.
The repository grew to a size of more than 100MiB.

Shrinking gave a size of a bit more than 1MiB.

Going all-in on permissive licensing was a mistake that directly led to extractive behaviour 2. Copyleft not having a good answer to the actual concerns of people who chose permissive licensing was a mistake that directly led to people going all-in on permissive licensing 3. It's too late to care about licensing, so we need other forms of consequences/ways to encourage organising

I know that I've said it many times before, but I'm just blown away by how much amazing Free/open source software people and companies are making, and just how good it can be.

Not just for hobbyists / tinkering (although those are absolutely valid use cases), but for Actually Getting Stuff Done.

@heiseonlineenglish Microsoft are right about MS Office being "impractical and too expensive" (and that is not even the worst part about it). They got the solution wrong though. The practical and free and Free (as in freedom and opensource and privacy respecting) is something like LibreOffice → libreoffice.org/
