Sometimes you get the most unexpected design ideas from the most unexpected source.

Here, I took the top portion of the #braid strand sliced horizontally in https://pixelfed.social/p/Splines/798252244743520392 and extracted the surface borders of each "bean" shaped segment of the strand.

The extracted curves shown in the top portion of the diagram look like 4 pairs of tiny bathroom slippers, each with a single strap near the front where the toes would be.

Fun activity for the entire family: Use #uniformScaling or #nonuniformScaling to fit every feet and be creative with the straps.

Since everybody was talking about the #CoolS, I've decided to play around with the symbol and the more general “simple #braid pattern” it derives from, mostly to see how easy would be to build them with #SVG (answer: pretty easy, and with integer coordinates all round). The intent in the long term is to use such a design for my next refresh of the “share to Fedi” icon, but in the mean time all I got from it was some cool #CSS borders and #HTML horizontal rulers. Not bad:

I feel like the magic of a game from #Braid comes from it's mechanics and it's (at the time) novel and fresh take on what a videogame could be.

That's not to say the anniversary edition isn't a fantastic thing in it's own right, but that I'm not sure how much a game like Braid would benefit from a re-release.
