#Trump and is cabinet of goons are following a 1-1 execution to change the US democracy into a dictatorship
As we've seen with the closing / firing / removal of opposition
My bet is they want us angry and frustrated so we go out on the streets and demonstrate, in which they can play their next move that is putting in some form of martial law
If that happens, it's over and done..
@stux It has all been so predictable.
@roknrol and on the nose.. with some almost literally
@stux I wish ex-presidents would speak up like, yes, Biden, Harris, Obama and even Bush… but they are all so quiet… Lots of other democrats are so quiet too…
@stux I have two objectives. One I won’t say here, and the other is #resisttrump in every way possible. I just finished reaming the staffer at my congressman’s local office for about 20 minutes. This is not a joke. He couldn’t give me concrete actions my rep was going to take, but said he was working on making a plan. I said, “So, he’s got concepts of a plan?” The guy said, “yes.” I came unglued. I had to tell him those were the felon’s exact words in the debate. He was speechless.
@stux He wants to use military force on Americans.
Always has. He enjoys violence and death.
@stux It's hard to figure out what is going on because there is so much at once and coming from so many different directions. There is
--Trump's desire for vengeance on his enemies, real and perceived
--Trump's obsession with (and stubborn misunderstanding of) trade imbalances and tariffs
--Trump's desire to make the world safe for oligarchs and high level corruption
--The Project 2025 stuff including cancelling all the "New Deal" social programs
--The Christo-fascist stuff
--The Putin-aligned stuff
--The culture war stuff
--The Musk techno-feudalism stuff
--A general desire among the motley crew of the cabinet and MAGA politicians to stay in power
All this stuff doesn't hang together and doing it all at once at "move fast and break things" speed is guaranteed to make most of the population seriously unhappy. It seems clear that they don't think they will have to win an election again. However, it is unclear exactly what they are trying to do. They are creating a much weaker country with no allies outside the pariah state consortium. Why would one want to be the dictator of an impoverished, broken country when with a little more patience and finesse, one could rule a powerful one? It doesn't make sense. Perhaps Putin has ordered him to simply wreak havoc, but this doesn't seem to be in Trump's interest.
@stux I forgot to list the scapegoating of immigrants, but that is more of an authoritarian means to an end than a real policy goal.
@stux for me US was more kind of stupid theocracy. Not a democracy.
@stux don't count us out if that all happens, we're a feisty bunch and have kicked fascist ass before, we'll do it again if we have to.
@stux Baron you know what years you have to do.
