Hey new people, you don't have to use the official Mastodon app! There are lots of other options you can use such as third party apps etc. Most people who try these alternatives usually prefer them.
Mastodon doesn't impose any particular app on you. You're free to use your account in whatever way works best for you. Here is a guide to all your options:

If you want to compare apps, you can be logged in with the same account on many apps at once.
@FediTips I've tried many apps and always come back to the web version which is fantastic. It's great that everyone has so much choice though.
@stevendrowe This is damn true: unfortunately (or fortunately), with such a well-made web interface, there is no great need for an app. But this is only true for advanced users: for the majority of the public, if there is no app, then there is no service...
@notizie @FediTips I always think the more I have on my computers or devices the greater chances they have of being buggered up. So I try to avoid overcrowding.
So I have numerous websites that in Safari ios I just go to a website then "set as home screen" - maybe there are many who don't know about this shortcut.
