I'm a cabbie and once took 2 sisters to hospital to see their dying mum. I took a longer route to boost my earnings. I found out a week later that their mum had died 5 minutes before they arrived at the hospital. Had I taken the normal route they would have chance to say goodbye.

@fesshole I'm going to call "bullshit" on this. How on earth would a cabbie find that out?

sodslawyer

@hedders @fesshole By asking them, or they told him, or they were talking with each other about it during the journey.

@sodslawyer But how would they know that the mother subsequently died?

@hedders Fair question, tbh. It's possible, one way or another but it does make it seem less likely.

(I may have read your first question wrongly, btw - I do see your point in terms of *subsequently* finding out)

@hedders @sodslawyer Unless the same driver picked them up again on a separate occasion. Not impossible.

@BetsyBeeee @sodslawyer Not impossible. But incredibly unlikely.
