For a cigar shop window in London, taken while on a trip to the city in 2012 to show an American friend around.

A busy shop front viewed directly from the street, processed in high contrast black and white. This is a tall, narrow, Victorian shop with a similarly tall and narrow door to the left, its large glass pane with the words "Pipes and tobacco at pleasing prices" etched inside an oval in the centre and Cuban cigar labels above and below. Oddly, a sign above the oval reads "Pipe smokers welcome here!" while one below reads "No smoking." Across the top of the shop is an old awning, folded back flat to the building, and with "Cigars, Tobacco, Pipes, Lighters" on its edge. Above in larger writing on the glossy, dark background is "J. Redford & Co." Above the doorway there is a portrait of Winston Churchill with cigar. To the right, over the top of the window is a large sign: "Havana Cigars At Pleasing Prices". The main window is lined with six equal-distance shelves running the full width. Each shelf is stacked with cigar boxes, snuff cases, baskets, lighters, and some bottles. A sign indicates that wine, whiskey, cognac, and miniatures are stocked. A sign below the window, just above the pavement, reads "H. Botterill & Sons, Havana Cigars, Estd. 1814"

Such a shame, really. It's the sort of shop front that deserved to be preserved as it was.

well, tobacco is not quite the seller as it used to be I think. especially not the higher end variations.
