Licensed physician in the US? Did you know you can just open up a supply relationship with a medical supplier and buy medications? Y’know, things that might become hard to get in the near future.
@mcnado I had been wondering about this! Is there info online that verifies what I hope is true…?
@lizopp I mean, I literally ordered a shipment of apocalypse drugs last night. I sent a supplier in another state a copy of my active license, they sent me an account. We’ll see if the medication shows up, but they are a legit business so I am not terribly concerned.
If docs have a business entity with their license, it’s much easier because they can just order off of Amazon. Any doc can also open credit with the big supply houses, but that is a more in depth process.
@mcnado I should have figured you were a doctor, given the MD in your userID LOL
@mcnado I think my family practice may have done this!
@mcnado
Meantime, now is the time to buy lots of plan b, even if you yourself do not need it. Buy it for others, donate it to anyone who may need it.
@mcnado Move to Canada, we need you. Guaranteed admission as a physician.
@TENET_CDN we are actively looking at it.
@mcnado Let me know if I can assist I am very familiar with the landscape.
@mcnado The problem is that every doctor's public corporation, Every hospital group, Every consolidated clinic has a preferred provider and they're supposed to order all of their stuff through that rather than make their own deals. The individual doctors with their own office and surgery and nurse in space that they rent or own is pretty rare these days, and those are the only ones that can make those deals without the entire group agreeing to it.
@wpeckham Your point is totally valid, but in this case I wasn’t suggesting ordering through those relationships. I am letting physicians know that they, all by themselves, have the ability to order medications from various direct suppliers, to put away at home.
In my case, I am putting away a bunch of critical antibiotics, a few antivirals, and some other medications that I might need to provide care in the event of a complete health system collapse.
