I think the saddest thing about the reception this film is getting is the fact that this movie probably WAS cohesive and smartly-written at some point and #MARVEL put it in front of random test audiences that didn't rave about it. Then re-wrote and re-shot it and did it again. Same result. By the time they re-shot it and re-worked it again and again, it became what it is. There's a really good movie in there somewhere.

I swear, in some scenes with characters speaking to each other, it doesn't even look like the actors know the other person was there, like they did the whole thing with green screen and composited it afterwards.

Totally saw that, especially in ACT II. The ADR work was rough and anytime you don't see someone's face when they speak, you know something went wonky.

I agree with you about the movie feeling like it got chopped and reshot to hell. Many scenes felt like they were either part of a different story or missing some crucial scene to set up context.
The standout misfire to me was the relationship between Sam and Pres Ross. Just didn't make sense.

I kind of wish they left RED HULK out of the story and put the focus on Esposito and the Serpent Society. They have a TON of SS stuff on the cutting room floor somewhere because Seth Rollins was supposed to be on the team.

Sounds like #GiancarloEsposito was a late addition during reshoots. That's probably why he feels so tacked on.
