The richest man in the world stole over $5K out of this guy's bank account, claiming he was dead. The richest man in the world said he was saving money.

He was not dead.

@grrlscientist

Bizar.

Maar typisch voor wat #Trump en #Musk aan het doen zijn, namelijk de VS slopen om zelf te kunnen profiteren.

@grrlscientist

my mom's birth certificate labeled her 'blue baby' which used to mean stillborn

she had no idea because she couldn't find her birth certificate for years, worked for years and paid in to all systems, took months for my BIL who is a lawyer and did it for free, to get it straightened out

and that was over 20 years ago

this is going to get much, much worse

@grrlscientist
DOGE reminds me of a homeowner who buys an old house, then starts working on it by hacking out all sorts of stuff without bothering to figure out how any of it works. So they end up ruining things that were perfectly fine, and spending lots of times repairing the damage they did.
Pretty sure the goal here is to just ruin stuff, then point to the mess and use that as an excuse to cut even more.

@Asbestos @grrlscientist

republicans claim that government doesn't work

when republicans get elected they break government and say 'see, we told you it doesn't work'

when Democrats get elected they try to fix what republicans broke

republicans block everything Democrats try to do to fix what republicans broke and blame Democrats for not fixing what republicans broke

republicans claim government doesn't work

wash, rinse, repeat - and still people vote for republicans

@samiamsam @grrlscientist
Oh yeah, they slash funding then a year later they say "X agency took this long to do this! It's failed" Then when someone suggests fixing it you get "Throwing money at it won't solve the problem" (Which someone had a great answer to- "seems to be what they do with the Pentagon")

@Asbestos @grrlscientist
It’s exactly how ignorant, inexperienced, narcissistic egomaniacs “manage” in any environment— by making sweeping changes before any comprehensive analysis is done. This process, if done at all, should have taken 2-3 years for real evaluation, not 2-3 weeks to fire people just to get “the numbers” aligned with some arbitrary wish from the dude who bankrupted 7 businesses (including a casino).

@Asbestos It is worse. They don't know what the load-bearing walls are. Total collapse is immanent.

@QuantumAspect
"total Collapse" = feature, not bug

@grrlscientist Thanks for posting this; I just read this article elsewhere and was coming to post it myself.

One of the bad bits is that Johnson seems to have gotten NO answer as to just why he was DOGE-died.

It could (and likely will) happen to any of us. Johnson was fortunate that there was still a somewhat functioning Social Security office near him, and that he could get there himself to argue his case that he was alive (imagine trying to do that on the phone or thru email or chat!!).
