The Play Store has started notifying app updates for apps installed with F-Droid, and as expected, they cannot be updated. However, the Play Store still shows those failed updates. Does anyone know why this might be happening? #android #fdroid #playstore #update
Since I've been using de-googled custom ROMs for years now, I don't know if the Play Store app allows blacklisting apps for updates.
But that's what I usually do in the Aurora store when there's an overlap with F-Droid :)
@graves501 Unfortunately, I had to go "official" Android since my device (Gigaset GX6 Pro) is unfortunately not supported by e.g. Lineage.
Yeah I've always checked the custom ROM situation before buying a phone. In the future I will just buy used Pixel phones and run GrapheneOS on them, super polished de-googled experience (and can run Google services in sandboxed mode if necessary) :)
Or PinePhones at some point.
We shall see
@graves501 I know! ️ I was just totally hypnotized with the Gigaset back then. Reasonably priced, more or less #green and #fair, with #dualsim, #replaceable #battery and even a #headphonejack. It just ticked all my boxes back then. And I think I plain forgot to think about the operating system for a moment and now "I have the salad".
️ But, ไม่เป็นไร (it's ok).
️ My next phone will have to be a #linuxphone though. I'll just hold out till then, I guess.
️
Regarding headphone jack: There are USB-C to Aux adapters out there, so that shouldn't be an issue in the future ;)
A replaceable battery is indeed nice though!
@graves501 You'll laugh, but I actually did quite a bit of research to find a device that still had a 3.5mm connector. ️
