Now this is the kind of performance art we need!
A woman who uses a wheelchair, together with two friends who dressed up as #Trump and #Musk, demonstrated at the Georgia Capitol in a performance they called "Walk the Doge." She not only wanted to ridicule them, she wanted to remind everyone that we the people are really the ones with power. We must remember that and stand for the rights of people with disabilities.

Turn out for the protests y'all! I've been to nine so far and everything is fine. They're safe and you meet great people. Above all, we must show this arrogant, lawless regime that we are not intimidated.
She's not. I'm not. People all over the country are showing every day that we will not be silenced. They can try to suppress us with algorithms, they can shut us out of news coverage, and WE ARE STILL HERE.
They wouldn't be hiding from the truth if we weren't powerful.
@MaryAustinBooks daaang! That’s awesome, Mary!!
And YES!! Please be a part of protests/marches whenever you can. @indivisibleteam has organized all kinds of actions across the country.
I never knew I just needed to yell “Fck Donald Trump” with hundreds of other people.
Good for the soul.
@RiaResists @indivisibleteam
OH LORD YES. It beats the absolute hell out of doomscrolling!
Statement from the Artist:
Walking the Doge
An Artistic Reclamation of Power
In a world where power has been hoarded, where billionaires and politicians parade as untouchable figures, Walking the Doge flips the narrative, dismantling the illusion of their dominance. Through performance,I reclaim the bodies that have been dismissed--bodies labeled weak, broken, passive. I reframe what strength looks like.
>>
As a disabled woman, I refuse the narrative of submission. In this work Donald Trump and Elon Musk are no longer the ones setting the course of pur world; they are the ones being led They are no longer the untouchable figures of unchecked power, but rather, they are walked--like dogs-- reminding us that public figures are public servants. They do not rule us; we dictate their actions.
>>
Power belongs to the people. We have been conditioned to believe otherwise, but the truth is that no leader, no billionaire, no institution is greater than collective resistance Walking the Doge is a call to action, an assertion that disabled voices, trans voices, the voices of the marginalized, are not passive. We are the architects of the future.
>>
We must seize control. We must demand justice. We must remind those in power that they answer to us, not the other way around.
Support Fight for 504. Support trans and disability rights. The power is, and always has been, in our hands. Let's make them heel. <end>
