Protests like this would normally be all over our national media outlets. All of them are owned by cowardly and/or pro-fascist ghouls, so this was only covered by local news in the US. No wonder you didn't hear about this abroad.

Yes, it's been a subject of quite a lot of dark humor around here that the people who supposedly need all those assault rifles to stand up against tyranny seem strangely quiet once we have an actual tyrant.

BUT. Even with everything against us, we still have a robust protest movement which continues to grow. And soon enough the crap will hit the fan with the economy and the GOP wants to destroy what safety net we have. Then we may well see violence from MAGA.

Rev William Barber is an experienced progressive leader who thinks we will have Arab Spring scale protests by April and May, and I agree. From what I am seeing at all the protests I go to, we were being nonviolent, we were being supportive of each other, but people are super angry.
And we're just the orchestra warming up-- we're the nonviolent ones who want Trump impeached and put in prison. GOP Congress critters are already too scared to face the MAGAs. Those people are violent.

I'm not from the UK and not young either. I am confident, and regretfully so, that the path the US is on will lead to either bloodshed or dictatorship. And regardless it's going to take generations to fix.

He's put himself above the law, to the point that he's rewriting history, re-interpreting settled law, and replacing judiciary who oppose that.

Europe, Africa, and the ME is full of small countries. There are countless times I've seen this and witnessed some first hand.

Yes, these people have made it clear that they will end our democracy by any violent means necessary. I just want it to be clear that I myself am not calling for violence. I just think that at the pace of the destruction they're wreaking, in a matter of months there will probably be violence, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if it chiefly came from MAGA. We're already seeing that anger and those threats. Before long they may be reaping what they've sown.
