My former housemate in #Amsterdam got the extension of her #visa refused. She needs a renewal every year and has to prove her contribution to the Dutch art community. Her contribution and renown has grown in the past year, and she still didn't get a new visa.
It's the different interpretation of the same rules under the new, right wing government. Something most Dutch people seemed sure wouldn't happen.

@Libby_ the mistreatment of migrants can be seen everywhere, I've seen it in every EU country I've been living so far. My impression is that the migration systems are built to oppress and to demotivate the highest number of people possible. Sort of to make life of migrants as complicated and miserable as possible so fewer people will stay and even try.
It's just we often don't notice, because as EU citizens we have it so nice, good and easy. But just talk to any of your non EU friends.
