Juggling With Eggs

Live Facial Recognition to be used on Coronation crowds.

2 aspects strike me about this story:

A) The Met obviously think being an anti-monarchist signifies you may be willing to engage in other protests on the future. I don’t buy that this is a fishing trip to pick up those with previous convictions…its about populating database for future.

B) King approved it.

The GuardianPolice accused over use of facial recognition at King Charles’s coronationBy Vikram Dodd

There will be no evidence that King Charles approved it…but if he didn’t want the crowds at his coronation to be subjected to this authoritarian identity trawl, then I’m sure he could have put his foot down…just as his mum exempted the Royals from over 160 pieces of legislation.

@JugglingWithEggs

If only we had a pandemic, and people needed to wear masks...oh, wait.

@JugglingWithEggs As a figurehead does he even get to choose? This is surely a home office decision and just a continuation of their anti-people policies.

@JugglingWithEggs
This is a good reason to bring back face masks

@JugglingWithEggs The King has no executive power at all. He may have signed something put in front of him, but that does NOT signify approval, in our system.
