@davidrevoy thanks so much for this video and blog entry you did. Ever since you posted about how you got to try and enjoy this device I think of buying one too. Now I am waiting for your discount code to get valid
@TadayoshiFirefox Thanks! Oh yes, I saw the 'Black Friday' offer ends in November and the promocode start the 24 (from top of brain). I emailed them yesterday to ask if the offers could both work together, and they replied yes.
Alas! That's not true.
If you enter the second code, the first one dissapears. At least in the German shop.
"Hinweis: Es kann jeweils nur ein Gutschein verwendet werden."
("Note: Only one voucher can be used at a time.")
@Grutjes @davidrevoy we got two codes? Yesterday I tried the code and it deducted the 15 euro from the already discounted price. But the stock of the tablets seems to be exceptionally empty the German store page tells me !4 weeks delivery!
So cheers while we wait
@TadayoshiFirefox Hey, ok, so same situation than in France about the low stock of items. I guess now it is Europe-wide.
About the code; still only one code for the -15€/$ , the other promotion we talk is the black Friday, not a promotion specific of yesterday only but it was on a long duration even when I posted the video. I think it ends until roughly end November as far as I remember.
It's a bit different in every country until when the BF deal is running. You can check them by changing your country in the upper right. As a Dutch person I have to anyway, as there is no Dutch website. Fortunately both the Irish, German and Irish sites will deliver to the Netherlands.
It may be worth your while to check as every country has a slightly different deal. I found the French best, but unfortunately my virusscanner blocked payment there because of...
...missing safety certifications.
I must say, I hope the equipment is better than their websites. Almost no explanation about some of the products (which extra nib?), and if you check the questions people ask you see many unanswered after months, or even wrongly answered.
But well, I make mistakes too :)
@Grutjes @TadayoshiFirefox Oh yes, and the XPPen website is full of mistakes. Translators and marketing poeple had no idea what they were writing about color profiles and color space. In big: 159% sRGB and then 99% sRGB. (Real spec I guess compared to what I roughtly measured here: 99% AdobeRGB and 159% sRGB)
https://www.xp-pen.com/product/artist-pro-16-gen-2.html
Inside the paragraph they even write a "wide gamut 99%sRGB" hilarious.
Also: marketing photo using the keyboard shortcut at 90° or product unconnected, fun
For anyone still doubting:
- I have no idea when they will deliver. They say within 3 days, but I have not heard from them after 5. Their communication is problematic.
- This code will give you a bigger discount, only in the next 22 hours:
XPBFEM5P2
And I really hate this. 100 dollars less as what I bought it for just a few days ago:
https://www.storexppen.eu/buy/artist-pro-16-2nd.html
I don't think I'll buy from them again.
@Grutjes @davidrevoy so my reply from them to this info was 'thats is the store for Scandinavians and eastern EU countries. The price difference comes from different labour and transportation costs. The products deleivery delay is shoved onto being shipped from China because stocks in Germany ran low.'
I hand my refund request in then. Such a fishy behaviour is not something I want to support. Cheers and happy sketching to y'all
I got the same mail, and another that gives my tracing code. It leads to a plane from china.
If you check their "east european" website, which just says EU, they are right: you can't order for the Netherlands. But you can for Norway, Greece and Denmark - they certainly don't have bigger transportation or labor costs.
I can understand why you cancel. Let us know if you get your money back.
Did you get your money back Tadayoshi?
I was stupid enough not to ask for it in the end. DHL came to my door when I was sleeping, to deliver. I woke up, yelled from the top floor I was coming down, but they didn't hear me. When I was downstairs they already drove off, leaving me a card with a QR code that doesn't work.
Now DHL says they delivered my tablet (they didn't).
DHL says they can't investigate unless XP-Pen orders them to. XP-Pen says I should contact DHL. DHL says I should contact XP-Pen, etcetera.
Seems I just lost my money and my parcel, and someone at DHL is doing some side business with stolen goods, with cover from their bosses.
@Grutjes @TadayoshiFirefox Oh no. I hope you'll find a way to know what happened. I thought all this type of things could be traced to not loose a delivery
@davidrevoy @Grutjes sadly if the delivery driver just States the parcel as delivered that is enough for the DCL to say not our problem
Exactly. My only hope is that they should have gotten my signature which they of course haven't, but since most people sign by just making some sort of a cross on an electronic device it's not much to go on.
Glad you got your money back.
Who knows, maybe I'll encounter a helpdesk employee with a conscience yet.
But it's difficult to get mad at those callcenter employees and parcel deliverers, as they are so badly exploited themselves...
I got my money back!
Waiting for a Huion now.
@Grutjes @davidrevoy huion is something that has not learned something in a while. And it is the second tip of the pen for the eraser. That thing makes me sad.
I'm afraid I don't understand?
@Grutjes huion pens lack the second tip. Wacom and xppen do have pens with a tip to sketch and one on the other side that automatically selects the eraser. So you turn the pen around 180 and have erase or sketch again. Yukon does not have this feature. Still not. I recently checked them out to see if they got that now but they have not improved their pen in that regard.
Ah, yes, that's true.
