The New York Times · Trump Ordered U.S. Strikes Against Houthi Militant Sites in YemenBy Eric Schmitt

2/ The —what was the word again? Oh yeah— ANTI-WAR president 🤦🏻‍♀️

@Barbramon1 @GottaLaff God help us when Trump gets a taste for blood. He'll be insatiable.

@Tharpa @GottaLaff He already has a taste for blood. His actions prove that he is sadistic on a level that makes Marquis de Sade look like an amateur.
He will use anything in his power to hurt others.

@Barbramon1 @GottaLaff Even Trump knows that invading Mexico, or Canada will be met with disappointment by the American people, so he'll cast around for some nation of brown people that Americans generally hate, and settle on Iran. After all, Netanyahu has his ear, and it's been his dream to destroy Iran for decades.

@Tharpa @GottaLaff Iran has the biggest military force in the Middle East, about one million active soldiers and reserves. It is well armed, thanks to Russia and China. It won't be destroyed without a serious fight.
If trump or netanyahu think that they can overrun Iran without significant consequences to their own countries, they are certifiably insane.

@Barbramon1 @Tharpa @GottaLaff The Persians have been fighting off invaders since the time of the Prophets. (As well as spreading their culture far and wide by both trade and war.) The current regime, installed by the US interference, has seen what Shock and Awe look like, both in Iraq and Afghanistan. They have anti aircraft weapons.

Taking on Iran means putting boots on the ground and significant loss of American life and treasure. The minute American forces land anywhere in the Levant or Mesopotamian regions, pretty much anywhere the Ottoman Empire used to be, hell will break out across the globe, the likes of which the West has never seen.

And I’d like to mention that the demented rotted fruit occupying the Oval has fired all the generals that actually went to War College.

This has been your Cassandra forecast for war with Iran.

@MissConstrue @Tharpa @GottaLaff
Good historical perspective. When CIA overthrew Iran's duly elected president, US installed the Shah, whom they wanted as a puppet. I really wish more Americans knew how much the US has interfered with internal affairs of other nations.
Shah was authoritarian, torturing and disappearing dissidents, suppressing free speech and free press. He antagonized religious leaders, who eventually overthrew his son.
US created so many of its own disasters in the region.

@Barbramon1 @Tharpa @GottaLaff France and England have a lot to answer for as well. They carved up the Middle East like it was theirs. Turkey, Syria Lebanon Palestine, Ottoman Empire, North Africa, just said “oh, we’re white, we know how to manage things better than you folks that have been doing it for thousands of years!” That’s gone very well since WW2, I think we can all agree. No notes. (Sarcasm)

@MissConstrue @Tharpa @GottaLaff So often you hear that the mideast situation is hopeless because there have been conflicts for "thousands of years". The area was actually as "peaceful" as any other part of the world. Look at the history of the European continent that has had countless wars since 5000 BC!
The end of the Ottoman Empire brought new Western powers into the region. The partition and greediness for oil inflamed the entire region. 100+ years later we are feeling the consequences

@Barbramon1 @Tharpa Well, they are. Insane I mean.

@Barbramon1 @GottaLaff I don't want to be doom and gloomy, but Trump is just the kind of ignorant, evil buffoon who would preemptively nuke Tehran, just to see what it feels like.

@Tharpa @GottaLaff The really dumb thing here is that Russia, trump's BFF, actually supports and arms the Iranian regime. I think Putin would discourage any act of war against Iran, and his orange lap dog would obey.

@Barbramon1 @GottaLaff Good points. Netanyahu would certainly encourage some kind of Iran action, and we assume Trump would never turn on Putin, but.. since Trump is now the most powerful (God help us) person on the planet, one wonders if he wouldn't come to the conclusion that Putin has served his purpose. Still, one could speculate endlessly.

@Barbramon1 @Tharpa @GottaLaff Putin also needs Shaheed drones and other military equipment from Iran.

@Tharpa @Barbramon1 @GottaLaff If we thought Iraq was a tough place to fight wars, Iran is bigger, may have nukes, and has Russia as a nearby friend. A war by the US in Iran would make VietNam look like a tickle-match by comparison.

Can't we just build a fake war room, invite FFOTUS, and put an AI generated war up on the screens? (Sort of like the movie War Games?)

@GottaLaff He’s just not happy unless the entire Middle East is in turmoil.
And probably looking for a way to take it out on Muslims in the US also. Guess he doesn’t understand how a jihad starts.

@GottaLaff
Flexing flaccid musculature. Again. Sheesh!

@GottaLaff he lives bombing Yemen
