@GottaLaff But who is going to make him open the portals back up? I had no idea the executive branch could unilaterally shut them down. He can leave them closed as long as he wants and no one will be able to access payments.
@TammyGentzel He can't, he has support throughout the government. MAGA crud has infested all our governments. @GottaLaff
@TammyGentzel Apparently a judge can, for now.
@GottaLaff For the record, I work for an organization with a grant funded by the USDA. We applied for reimbursement of funds expended from December 1 thru January 31 on Thursday. We were told all approval for reimbursements are on hold until "clarifying instructions" have been received.
@TammyGentzel @GottaLaff If/when you get to work for them again, try to arrange for advances for expenses, instead of reimbursements, as they are no longer a trusted financial partner.
I remember when working for a company that (eventually) went bankrupt, we went from paycheques delayed by a week after the end of the pay period to paycheques paid during the pay period. This was during the time that the bankruptcy trustees were managing the assets, till it could all be wound down.
@bjb Thanks for the feedback, but our grant category doesn't allow for advance payments.
@TammyGentzel @GottaLaff I'm traveling with people who were about to start USAID-funded jobs. Needless to say those jobs no longer exist. Which is a bit of a damper on their pre-new job vacation...
@GottaLaff Complete shitshow!
@ang6666 And it's only the beginning
