@GeriatricGardener If I remember right, it was a close election. Slightly over half of Floridians who bothered to vote have gotten what they asked for. And the majority of Floridians disagree with DeSantis about the reality of climate change.
In a state that disenfranchises large numbers of voters, and other things, statements like this ignore the rest of the people who are there and are frequently stuck.
Sadly we’re all “stuck” in political duopoly straitjacket political systems (I’m in the UK) which fetishize the anti-democratic neoliberal economic/ social model!
I didn’t vote for the “centrist” Labour Party in our recent elections because it’s policies vary only slightly from those of the Right Wing Conservatives! Our population, like yours, has been propagandised into thinking that “there is no alternative” to neoliberalism!
Even if “close” DeSantis still won - sadly!
