Right now it looks like insurgents are focussed on trying to burn down Elon Musk's money supply one Tesla dealer at a time.
@LukefromDC @Free_Press Sadly Musk has just figured out, because his DOGE bypassed Congress and seized the Treasury payment systems, that the federal government isn't reliant on tax income but instead digitally creates all the money with keystrokes on computers.
This is an acutely dangerous situation, as it means he now effectively has infinite dollars if he can find a way to appropriate funds discreetly enough. Boundless greed + magic money machines + zero Congressional oversight = disaster.

@LukefromDC @Free_Press That situation has never actually occured in any economy that hasn't had its supply side destroyed, for example by war (Weimar) or violent land reform (Zimbabwe), but we are in agreement that someone as reckless as Musk could probably start it.
Certainly it makes a mockery of the idea that DOGE is "saving" anything, since it's not possible for a monopoly currency-issuer such as the USA to "save". It's entirely self-funding. You don't need money when you ARE the money. 
But that was domestic terrorism or they burned spontaneously by design? 
@Free_Press Whoever is doing this is not harming Tesla. They are harming whichever (probably middle class) person owns those cars. And harming everyone else who has to pay insurance. They are also doing a lot of harm to the environment.
In addition to arson they ought to be convicted of polluting the atmosphere.

And well they get the insurence, but the bastard's have to pay higher rates. And some customers may be glad that they don't have to drive the Swasticar they ordered, now they're able to choose a democracy car.
And some customers may wish to get rid of the fear their car will all of a sudden burn.
If a government starts ignoring decision of a court, the fight has to start.

Prefer to not see them burn at the dealership. Tesla can either claim a loss for tax purposes or collect from insurance. Prefer to see them collect dust on the lots unsold. And would love it if Tesla joined the list of Edsel, Corvair, Pinto, Yugo, Aztec, Pacer, and other extinct crapmobiles.
