This would not be so much of a problem if the judges were not extremely partisan, beholden and corrupt.

That's why you should have separation of powers, and not have a partisan president appoint SC judges.

@DemocracyMattersALot Here's why Arizona Republicans think it's fine to pass a law allowing certain voters (*coughLatinocough*) to vote for Congress but not for President:
Constitution, Art. I, Sec. 4, Cl. 1 (the Elections Clause):
"The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations...."
