BBC News: Why don't Europeans buy more American cars? - BBC News
tl;dr - they're a bit shit, they're not economical, and they're too big to drive on smaller European city streets and lanes.
@xtaldave American automakers expect Europeans to adapt their taste to their high-margin manufacturing.
And yes, most Americans drive cars that are far too big for their purposes and that endanger pedestrians.

Yes! Good Lord, many of us *want* smaller cars to drive. We badly need smaller, more affordable EV's, not just luxury SUV's or giant pickup trucks. Why should we expect Europeans to want giant trucks? Man, a lot of *us* can't stand those things, to the point that the giant lifted pickup driven by a cosplay cowboy is a cultural joke.
@Badger_AF @MaryAustinBooks @xtaldave The one’s with dangling testicles are the ones that crack me up. Tell me with no words that you’re dickless AND intellectually challenged.

Still holding out for the Rivian RX3! 300 plus miles for $35K? I'll wait a year or two and then buy it used!

@MaryAustinBooks @xtaldave I have given VW a lot of shit for bragging about taking on Tesla and then putting out weak EVs.
I stand to be corrected - next month, VW is presenting an EV (ID.1) for $20K which will debut in... 2027?
The devil is always in the details. Will have a 279 mile range? Will it be available in the U.S.

There's progress all the time. I love the fact that in maybe as little as 5 years we might have sodium based EV batteries instead of lithium, eliminating a lot of thorny environmental and ethical issues with mining!
