The Germans who grew up after WWII also asked these questions to the generations of their parents and grandparents... and the latter often failed to have good answers.
@juergen_hubert I’ve thought about this recently. I am participating in the resistance in several different ways. My understanding of the choices that the German people faced are much different now. When your leadership is complicit, sometimes it is all you can do to hold your head above water. Easy to judge others when you haven’t lived through it. I’m aware that every bit of resistance is important but I’m also aware that the average person has limited resources.
