@spaf Isn't Cthulhu "Polynesian", and therefore not eligible? As well as being too left wing for them.
@spaf He wasn't eligible anyway. Wasn't born in this universe. He's an illegal alien always trying to sneak in through the corners of rooms and other dimensions.
@CaptMorgan @spaf The Constitution doesn't mention Elder Gods. We are in uncharted territory. However, he ended his campaign due to insufficient evil, so perhaps the Court can take it up later in the century. Of course his real problem is psychological. He thinks, "If an Elder God does it, it's not really evil." This leads to evil impostor syndrome, a crisis of confidence in the contest of evilness.
@jredlund @CaptMorgan @spaf also the cutest clause has expressions for candidates who where in the territory at the time the us was formed…so if part of his being was manifest….
@CaptMorgan @jredlund @spaf technically if he was a US citizen at the time the constitution was adopted he can also be president. People usually omit that option because nobody has qualified by that method in centuries- obviously the first few were not born in the US as it didn't exist yet. If Cthulu was living in the right area in 1787 he's good.
That's a surprise indeed. The King of R'lyeh will be missed.
@ParadeGrotesque @spaf Damn it. What're we supposed to do with all of these now?

@bedbathandthebeyond @ParadeGrotesque
May he will run No Labels?
@bedbathandthebeyond @ParadeGrotesque @spaf the tagline is supposed to be "Why choose the *lesser* evil?"
I think you misunderstand. Cthulhu IS the lesser evil.
He’s always advocated for the equal treatment of all humans regardless of skin color, sex, gender, or sexual orientation. He’s never supported the concept of corporate personhood, or preventing women from having control over their bodies.
He is objectively less evil than the GOP. More destructive, but less evil.
@bedbathandthebeyond @daico @ParadeGrotesque @spaf even "more destructive" might be debatable soon, at this rate.
... maybe... run as an independent?
@spaf@mstdn.social It's a damned shame.
Lou and I go waaay back
Couldn't have happened to a better evil guy
@spaf This kind of misses the point, in that Cthulhu's horrorfulness was always depicted not as him being evil, but him being powerful and uncaring. Cthulhu is not evil like your garden variety zillionaire.
@spaf I think it was Trump calling them Cthu-loser that did it
"excuse me, sir. have you heard the word of our nemesis and destructor, cthulhu?"
Aaaahhhhhhhh, good ol' Cthulhu...
@oh
dunno who that is, Em.
@spaf He had the Fox News ads ready:
https://www.cthulhuforamerica.com/
A shame, I have been backing him for decades. But, being from New England, he has no chance in the GOP
@spaf What's the fake Churchill quote to go with this announcement?
@spaf never back down yeah right okay sure
@spaf are the morals/ethics of Cthulhu and other Great Old Ones truly evil, or simply beyond the ken of mere mortals?
@spaf
How is climate change affecting R'lyeh?
@Nazani As conditions are trending towards making it unsuitable for continued human existence, it seems dandy.
@weaselx86 @spaf stop making him look cooler, though
@weaselx86 @spaf Now we just need someone to alter that text behind him to something in R'lyehian.
"yeah. found some book in a used book store. some wafer book. necco-something. wafers means it's a holy book, right? might give it a read tonight."
